Let’s get basic facts straight right here right now:
— If it wasn’t for Black voters in Virginia Terry McAuliffe would not be Governor right now.
— If it wasn’t for Black voters in Virginia, Republicans would now run the Commonwealth.
— If it wasn’t for Black voters in Virginia, Republicans would control redistricting next week.
— If it wasn’t for Black voters in Richmond, Suffolk, Arlington, Roanoke, Chesapeake, Henrico, Prince William, Portsmouth, Petersburg, Virginia Beach, Danville, Fairfax, Newport News, Hampton and Norfolk there would be no Democratic Party of Virginia. Our biggest policy issues impact African Americans disproportionately and impact all Virginians.
But are the elected officials in office because of Black voters focused on issues that impact Black Virginians disproportionately? We will be analyzing this question moving forward.
